...ANOTHER VERY COLD WINTER STORM FOR WESTERN COLORADO WITH
INCREASING SNOWFALL THIS EVENING...

.AFTER AN INITIAL WAVE MOVED THROUGH THE AREA TODAY...SNOWFALL
DECREASED IN MANY LOCATIONS. THIS WILL BE SHORT-LIVED AS AN
INCREASE IN SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR THIS EVENING AS A STRONG COLD
FRONT ARRIVES FROM THE NORTHWEST. THE FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTHWARD
TONIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY BRINGING MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW TO
MUCH OF THE REGION WITH ITS PASSAGE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR
OVER THE NORTHERN COLORADO MOUNTAINS WITH AMOUNTS RANGING FROM
1 TO 2 FEET. LESSER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN
MOUNTAINS.

MANY VALLEYS WILL ALSO SEE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WITH SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL EXPECTED IN THE NORTHERN VALLEYS INCLUDING CRAIG...
MEEKER AND STEAMBOAT SPRINGS. THOSE VALLEY LOCATIONS ALONG THE
INTERSTATE 70 CORRIDOR TO INCLUDE GRAND JUNCTION TO EAGLE AND
ALONG HIGHWAY 50 FROM GRAND JUNCTION TO MONTROSE TO GUNNISON WILL
ALSO SEE SNOWFALL WHICH WILL IMPACT TRAVEL.

FRIGID TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN BEHIND THIS WINTER STORM AS
OVERNIGHT LOWS DROP TO AROUND 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE
NORTH TUESDAY NIGHT.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL START UP AGAIN THIS EVENING AND BECOME
 HEAVY OVERNIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...10 TO 20 INCHES OF NEW SNOW BY 6 PM
 TUESDAY.

* WINDS...WEST WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH...
 SHIFTING TO THE NORTHWEST AND DECREASING TO 10 TO 20 MPH WITH
 GUSTS TO 30 MPH OVERNIGHT.

* VISIBILITY...LESS THAN ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES IN MODERATE TO
 HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...MOUNTAIN ROADS WILL BECOME ICY AND SNOWPACKED WITH
 LOW VISIBILITY IN SNOWFALL AND BLOWING SNOW...ESPECIALLY OVER
 HIGH MOUNTAIN PASSES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE ALSO
